NV Energy is committed to the safety and well-being of the children in the communities we serve. We support and sponsor a wide variety of safety and educational programs (listed below) to benefit children of all ages.

Kidzone
NV Energy's new Kidzone has a wealth of energy information geared towards kids. Games, quizzes, fun facts and a ton of information helping kids learn how to save energy and stay safe around electricity. Kidzone includes:

• The Electrical Safety Website At our Electrical Safety Website children learn to perform Home Safety Audits (with an adult's help), print out an Electrical Safety Certificate and play fun games and activities. There's also a teacher's guide with activities, games and experiments for a range of interests and reading levels from elementary through middle school.
  
• Kids Conservation Website: Here kids learn about electricity, where it comes from, how it is produced and why it is so important to conserve. Kids also learn the various ways kids can save energy at home and at school. Along with the facts, there are checklists, quizzes and fun games to play.

Powerful Partnership Scholarship Program
The NV Energy Powerful Partnership Scholarship recognizes students who make significant contributions to their community, excel academically, and demonstrate outstanding involvement in school activities. Homework Hotline
NV Energy is working with the Clark County School District to offer southern Nevada students the Homework Hotline. Students can call the hotline and ask for help with their homework, especially math and language arts. They can also watch the Homework Hotline television show to participate in the program's "Question of the Day" to win prizes and see teachers answer questions from students about homework.

Focus School Project and Myrtle Tate Elementary
NV Energy participates in the Clark County School District's Partnership Program Focus School Project that matches schools with businesses, organizations, agencies, and individuals to bring needed resources to students. NV Energy's focus school is Myrtle Tate Elementary.

McGruff Truck Youthwatch Program
NV Energy participates in this program, which teaches school children to recognize McGruff truck decals on NV Energy vehicles. Children in danger can wave the vehicle down and get help from our trained drivers.

America's Schools Recycling Program
The America's Schools Recycling Program, in cooperation with the Nevada Association of School Boards have formed a partnership with NV Energy to support K-12 public school educational and extracurricular programs. By participating in this program, NV Energy will generate additional dollars for school programs such as arts, music, drama, athletics, libraries, computers and other subjects.

Energy Materials
NV Energy has a variety of magazines, project ideas, posters and videos for young people that focus on the subjects of electricity, energy conservation and the environment. All items are available upon request, subject to availability.

Educational Events
NV Energy supports a variety of educational events including competitions and expositions that help students with career awareness, course selection, and technological literacy.
